AIDS World Day: December 1, 2007 (BLSA will host
events on November 30, 2007, to increase the awareness among the student
body of the epidemic of AIDS and its impact on our world. Additional

MLK Day 2008: NBLSA Day of Action: January 21, 2008 (BLSA will host
events to inform the student body of the impact that Martin Luther King had
on the advancement of our world for the greater benefit of us all.

They Had a Dream Too
(Date TBA) (BLSA, in
conjunction with the State Bar of Texas, will bring to the Tech Law student
body “They Had a Dream Too.” This project was produced by the Texas
Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) and made possible by a grant from the
Texas Bar Foundation. They Had a Dream Too: Young Leaders of the Civil
Rights Movement consists of a 28 minute film highlighting the
achievement of a few of the thousands of young people who made a difference
in the 1950s and 1960s when the struggle for civil rights reached its peak
in the United States. The film includes interviews with people who as young
adults helped changed their world. The film also contains a component
that educates students about civil rights struggles that have occurred
since the 1960s and challenges young people to become leaders today.)
